Netteller Stops Online Gambling Transfers

Payment processor Neteller has announced that it will no longer transfer money to online poker and gambling sights for United States players. The announcement came after the arrest of its founders on U.S. soil last week.

The arrests were the latest it a series of actions by the U.S. government against the online gaming industry. The crackdown has been targeting the finical middlemen such as Neteller who have continued to operate after credit card companies and other financial institutions stopped processing transactions to online gambling sights.

After the Neteller announcement, many of the online poker sites still open to U.S. players sent out notices encouraging players to seek other options for transferring money to their accounts by using Click2pay, ePassporte or ATMonline.Monday January 22, 2007
